Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Comparative Physiology Description The Department of Biology at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in physiology to begin in August 2025. A successful candidate will contribute to teaching in our functional organismal biology introductory course (BIOL 162). We are particularly interested in candidates who can also teach an upper-division course (with lab) in comparative physiology. The candidate will be expected to establish a productive research program in their area of interest that is well-suited to undergraduate participation. The research area is open, but please note that facilities for research on vertebrate systems are extremely limited. Additional information about the Biology department is available at: https://www.holycross.edu/academics/programs/biology This position carries a 3-2 teaching load with a research leave prior to tenure review of either a full year at 80% salary or a semester at full salary, and generous sabbatical and fellowship leaves for tenured faculty. To enable a smooth transition to Holy Cross, new full-time tenure-track Assistant Professors receive start-up funding to support their research and professional development and have a one-course reduction in their first year of teaching ( i.e., 2-2). Qualifications Candidates must demonstrate excellence in scholarship and a commitment to effective undergraduate teaching in the context of a liberal arts college. A Ph.D. in a relevant field of biology is required at the beginning of the appointment.
