We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a Warehouse Supervisor you will be trusted to lead a diverse team of line coordinators, area leads, and operators at our Manufacturing Facility in Houston, TX!
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Managing warehouse activities such as manufacturing replenishments, shipping, and receiving.
- Perform root cause investigations and create corrective action plans.
- Providing a safe working environment that aligns with applicable standards and ensures that associates are working safely.
- Implementing and overseeing programs that encourage adherence to company and department HSE standards and priorities.
- Operating in accordance with established policies and procedures to meet commitments within Alcon's standards (Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, Conduct).
- Initiating and directing implementation of systems, policies, and procedures to ensure that products and services meet regulatory and quality standards.
- Monitoring processes, identifying problems, and initiating appropriate corrective actions.
- Critically reviewing operations for ways to improve regulatory compliance, product quality and/or productivity.
- Tracking, evaluating, and reporting on key quality performance indicators, as well as corrective and preventive actions.
- Troubleshooting problems regarding product quality and equipment.
- Creating a positive work environment that engages associates and enables and rewards strong performance.
- Ensuring fair and consistent treatment of all associates, in alignment with company policies & procedures, as well as employment law.
- Developing team goals that align with Department's annual objectives.
- Ensuring regular communication of Company/Department objectives to all team members.
- Leading by example, encouraging all associates to act consistent with company values and behaviors.
- Managing HR activities such as performance appraisals, training, interviewing, counseling, and staff and resource utilization.
- Developing organizational capability to identify and resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
- Providing front line supervision, leadership, and work direction to warehouse teams, including time and attendance, performance management, training oversight and development.
- Managing conflict and deal effectively with others in a diverse workforce.
- Interfacing and coordinating with other departments to determine priorities and accomplish shared objectives.
- Determining and communicating planning priorities and production schedules and resolving potentially conflicting priorities.
- Tracking, evaluating, controlling, and reporting on key manufacturing performance indicators.
- Managing day-to-day warehouse operations and continuously monitoring results to ensure alignment with goals.
- Managing multiple priorities, and effectively holding others accountable for results.
- Monitoring, analyzing, and recommending/implementing improvements to better utilize labor, equipment, and space.
- Managing significant projects.
- Leading and implementing continuous improvement processes within the warehouse area utilizing industry known lean processes.
- Supervising a team that works night shift, 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM.
What you'll bring to Alcon:
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- 2 Years of Relevant Experience
- 1 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
- Work Hours: Night Shift (8 hours): Monday - Friday. There is some flexibility regarding specific start and end times.
- Travel Requirements: 0 - 5%

Preferred Qualification/Skills:
- Warehouse Management System experience (SAP preferred)
