Overview:

The incumbent of this position shall have a strongbackground in emergency communication technologies and experience with technology integration within an enterprise environment.

The incumbent of this position shall report to the Manager-Emergency Services Communication Center andparticipate in and support planning and development of long-term strategic goals for system and software.

The incumbent is responsible for maintaining communication infrastructure for EMS, LifeLine and Safety andSecurity responders in multiple states (MO, OK, KS, and AR) to include but not limited to: Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Mobile CAD, NG-911 phone system, ArcGIS Server system, Medical Priority Dispatch Systems, radio console and all end points, VHF/UHF/800 MHz control point radios and repeaters, mass notification system, satellite tracking software, cellular access points, automatic vehicle location system (GPS), Pulse tracking systems, computer interfaces for Zolland Physio cardio monitors, ESO and associated interfaces.

The incumbent will work closely with Mercy Technical Services, co-workers, contractors, vendors, and other support groups to ensure all equipment is maintained and functioning in working order. Will verify proper operation of installed systems andnotify end-users /requesters of completed or updated systems. Will troubleshoot and implement the most appropriate repair or replacement action when necessary.

Develop and maintain communication tools and procedures such as technical drawings and schematics to show devices relative to the systems, maintenance rotation procedures, and maintain on-site inventory of spare components for break/fix purposes

Qualifications:

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree, Information Technology or computer systems related.

Required experience: 2 years of IT, computer science, or communication systems experience in a large, enterprise environment or emergency communication center. Trained and/or certified to configure and maintain Computer Aided Dispatch systems and related software.

Other: Must have a working knowledge of the basic fundamentals of Information Technologies and Networking systems, including cellular access points, and 911 system topology. Ability to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and installations of associated software and miscellaneous hardware found in emergency communication centers and enterprise environments. Physical demands: A) Push, pull up to 20 lbs respectively. B) grip up to 50 lbs, pinch up to 15 lbs. C) Low position work including kneel, crouch, and crawl occasionally. Editing databases and performing basic queries (e.g. Access and SQL), and working with data warehouses and other relational database storage environments. Complex problem-solving, with hands-on ability (create options, then coverage).Must be organized and have attention-to-detail approach (strong tactical execution. Possess superior organization skills, effective leadership, conflict resolution skills and strong customer service orientation. Self-motivated and ability to learn quickly. At ease in environments with quickly shifting requirements. Must be team-oriented and have a positive attitude. Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills; as well as strong analytical, problem identification/solving skills are required. Has the ability to travel 10% of the time. Willingness to devote significant time to personal and professional development is a must. And to work outside of normal business hours as required completing all projects.

Preferred Certification/Registration: International Academy Emergency Dispatch Executive Certification, Avtec Certified Maintenance, Viper Certified Maintenance.
