About the Job:

The Manager-Operational Excellence is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive optimization strategy leading for assigned areas to drive growth and innovation leveraging technology.

What You'll Do:

Essential Functions

* Work closely with operations teams to analyze and improve aggregate production plant and pit efficiencies.

* Organize and perform plant fixed equipment studies to maximize efficiencies, identify potential production deficiencies related to the automation system and work with other Operations Support groups to develop solutions. Conduct field studies to gather information that cannot be measured through digital systems.

* Develop and implement strategies to streamline operations, reduce costs and improve overall performance.

* Monitor and review crusher testing to maximize product throughput, profile liners, and manage the cost utilization of liners.

* Utilize software such as AggFlow, AggQC, CrusherQC, Vantagepoint and Historian to monitor and model plant(s), evaluate data, and analyze potential changes.

* Work with plant operators to customize and optimize use of PLC based control systems and PC graphic user interface.

* Troubleshoot, evaluate, and maintain effectiveness of hardware such as bin/bowl sensors, belt scales, variable frequency drives, etc.

* Review, track and document different pit/plant setups for various modes including blending, screen media, chute flow, crusher settings, and production rates of key product.

* Create custom reporting for operations managers and project-oriented field studies.

* Drive cultural change and foster a continuous improvement mindset. Promote continuous improvement culture by recognizing innovative ideas and contributions from employees.

* Work closely with other optimization team members to work through processing bottlenecks and adjustments related to productivity demands and changing field conditions.

* Establish performance goals and objectives for the area and various functions and measure results with accountability.

* Integrates business plans with talent plans and makes informed, thoughtful personnel decisions in a timely manner. Develops department staff to ensure effective succession.

* Provides leadership, coaching, mentoring and management to direct the team. Clearly communicates strategy, tactical priorities and performance expectations; sets tactical priorities consistent with the key drivers and assumptions underlying these plans.

* Other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements

* This position requires knowledge and awareness of mining and construction site hazards.

* Will be required to use protective gear and to take other precautions when in or near a mining/construction site.

* Must have the ability to use computerized equipment and technology.

* Ability to work in a stressful, deadline-oriented environment that requires complex, technical information and decision-making.

* Must be able to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.

* Travel required: 70-80% time in the field.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.

Experience:
5 years' experience in the mining, operating or quality control experience in aggregate plant operations and/or processing/manufacturing automation.
