POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of a Radiologist, administers ionizing radiation to patients producing diagnostic radiographs at technical level requiring no constant supervision of technical detail. The technologist will perform a variety of procedures that will require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative. The individual must be able to meet the needs of patients of all ages physically, socially, emotionally, and culturally.

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology program.
  • Current A.R.R.T. and I.D.N.S. license. Graduates must be board eligible and have a temporary I.D.N.S. license.
  • Responsible for acquiring 24 hours of continuing education hours every 2 years.
  • Previous experience not required.
  • Specialized Technologist.

    1. Mammography-Certification by A.R.R.T or meet MQSA technologist requirements.
    2. CAT Scan-Certification by A.R.R.T. or specialized training-in-house or applications to personnel provided by vendor.




Job Essential Functions

  • Reasonably anticipated occupational exposure to blood, blood-borne pathogens, and other potentially infectious materials.
  • Visual and hearing acuity with/without corrective devices.
  • Job may require potential exposure to chemical/hazardous materials.
  • Requires potential for exposure to an environmental hazard of radiation.
  • Knowledge of cultural, religious, and spiritual assessment.
  • Knowledge of abuse/neglect.
  • Requires of performance of highly complex and various tasks during emergency situations requiring independent knowledge and judgment.
