About the Role

Culmen International is hiring a Front Office Strategy Advisor to provide support for the Research Directorate at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and will be onsite in Springfield, VA.

NGA Research sets the vision and mission for GEOINT R&D at NGA and the NSG, ensuring that NGA Research's priorities line up with NGA Mission Imperatives, Operational End States, and long-term planning. The Contractor shall provide strategic planning to the NGA Research Front Office (RFO) to include the Director (D/R), Deputy Director (DD/R), Chief of Staff (CoS), Office Directors (ODs), and Senior Scientists (SSs) to ensure positioning NGA Research to respond to the changing threat, environmental and operational needs.



What You'll Do in Your New Role

    Lead tasks, portions of tasks, projects and follow-up on actions from internal and external meetings. Identify, prioritize, and organize key technical and programmatic details in concise notes or briefing materials.
  • Assist in determining optimal program strategies, to include metrics, goals, and objectives of innovative technologies.
  • Support concept development, assessment and risk identification, as well as recommendations for new programs for Program Build/POM development.
  • Provide support in areas pertinent to the new concepts/programs the office may be pursuing. This includes review, editing, and feedback on new program concepts and technologies, new start briefs, new solicitations through Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) and Broad Agency Announcements (BAAs).
  • Research, evaluate, and analyze issues, questions, propose alternatives, and recommend solutions across the Research portfolio.
  • Assist with review of ongoing programs to include input at annual reviews, site visits, demonstrations, and other events.
  • Perform meeting setup and preparation, participation, note taking, and summarizing meeting discussions and decisions.
  • Develop and maintain program and project schedules and calendars.
  • Provide technical input as required into the Intelligence Program Budget Submission (IPBS) and Congressional Budget Justification Book (CBJB) descriptions, expected and actual accomplishments, input into congressional staff briefings, and input into other related internal or external inquiries.


Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in physics, mathematics, chemistry, computer science, or engineering and/or BA/BS in military history, political science, or government or seven years of experience serving in a similar role in a Research organization within the IC, DoD, or with an NGA partner such as DARPA, DOE Lab, USDR&E, Joint Staff, Military Service Staff, ODNI, Combatant Command Staff, Major Command Staff, or any US Government intelligence, acquisition, or operations unit staff.
  • 15+ years of work experience
  • Willing to sit for CI-Poly


Desired Qualifications

  • Government military or civilian experience in the National Security Council, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Offices of the Secretaries of the Military Services, Joint Staff, Military Service Staffs, Office of the Director of National Intelligence, or an intelligence agency.
  • NGA Experience

The determination of compensation at Culmen International, LLC is based on various factors such as location, the individual's unique combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, clearance level, experience, internal equity, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $129,000 - $149,000 annually. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Culmen's total compensation package for employees.
