Process Engineer

Job Purpose:

To provide injection molding processing and engineering expertise for a range of product and materials. Also are responsible for identifying and implementing innovative engineering technologies, which will deliver highly efficient and cost effective processes and equipment.

Nature of Duties:

• Performs planning, development, support of design and installation of injection molding tooling, equipment and processes.
• Will act as an advocate of disciplined plastics engineering approaches using (ie. Robust Mold Trials, Systematic Molding Techniques, Standard Work Flow)
• Ensures that molding equipment meets specifications, schedules and budgets.
• Provide troubleshooting expertise and resolve Injection Molding problems using strong systematic trouble shooting techniques.
• Develop technical problem solving skills among process technicians. Provide key inputs and leadership into transformational process development
• Provide timely and accurate reporting on project activities.
• Lead or actively participate in cross-functional teams to ensure New Product Introduction projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Lead and Support Lean/Six Sigma initiatives within the facility.
• Actively interface with cross-functional team members, always practicing good team work.
• Ensure all process development documents are completed in accordance with the Quality Management system to support a smooth transition to production.
• Support the implementation of all plant strategic initiatives.
• Ability to travel on short notice
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Sciences or engineering discipline.

5 years of experience in the Injection Molding Industry preferred.

Must have a strong polymer processing knowledge and process development skills.

Ability to work with vendors and suppliers to find solutions.

Strong and appropriate influencing skills and strong work ethic is important.
