Overview: The Genetic Counselor will be part of the team providing clinical genetics services at Montefiore-Einstein, including a research role with the New York Center for Rare Diseases (NYCRD). The clinical genetics services will involve obtaining patients' medical and family histories and providing genetic counseling and psychosocial support. You will be responsible for the organization and coordination of multidisciplinary/specialty clinics serving individuals with complex genetic disorders. You will also have teaching responsibilities for genetic counseling students. The NYCRD is charged with providing advanced diagnostics, care and therapies, while fostering cutting-edge research in medical genetics. The NYCRD role will include the recruitment and consenting of patients for inclusion in research studies, providing help with chart reviews to derive phenotypic information, presentation of patient clinical information at medical genomics rounds, and contributions to publications of case reports and research studies Requirements:
