Asst Dir Faculty Affairs

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position will manage and support strategic projects as well as day-to-day operations for the Office of Faculty Affairs. Under the strategic direction of the Senior Vice Provost/Vice Dean, Faculty Affairs, the Asst Dir will dentify opportunities for enhanced collaboration, communication, programming, and process improvement throughout Thomas Jefferson University. In addition, the Project Manager will independently develop projects and programs necessary to advance the departmentrsquo;s mission.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Design, coordinate, lead, and evaluate initiatives and projects related to strategic priorities for the Office of Faculty Affairs, and in collaboration of the Faculty Affairs team.
  • Independently manage and prioritize short and long term special projects, programs and other initiatives as assigned by the Senior Vice Provost/Vice Dean.
  • Provide creative administrative leadership and operational support to the Senior Vice Provost/Vice Dean of Faculty Affairs.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of standard operating procedures for the effective and efficient operation of the Office of Faculty Affairs. Provide guidance on SOPs and Faculty Affairs policies.
  • Serve as a liaison to key organizational stakeholders and external parties on behalf of the Senior Vice Provost/Vice Dean, consulting with them to establish effective working relationships.
  • Establish and maintain an effective system of communication with the Office of Faculty Affairs and with faculty.
  • Independently anticipate, manage, and prioritize preparations for required internal and external reporting, documentation, and deliverables, providing staff and faculty guidance support as needed.
  • Formulate budget for department. Tracks and monitors budget expenses.

Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Bachelorrsquo;s Degree required, Masters preferred. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of 5 years related experience, preferably in higher education.

Previous project management and strategic planning experience strongly preferred.
