SUMMARY

The Program Supervisor provides administrative and supervisory oversight to the Teen Family Services Department for the Adolescent Family Life Program (AFLP) and CalLearn Program and other programs that may be funded under the Teen Family Services. The Program Supervisor provides weekly individual and group supervision to Case Managers. Weekly supervision incorporates administrative, clinical and reflective practices. The Program Supervisor assures quality of service provision and monitoring of programs direct service staff for contract compliance.

Position is 24 hours per week (Three 8-hour days per week)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports and promotes the mission of the Agency: Foothill Family empowers children and families to achieve success in relationships, school, and work through community-based services that advance growth and development.
  • Supervises the Case Managers and assures program and contract compliance.
  • Provides weekly individual supervision following Agency/Contract best practices and policies for frequency, duration, quality and content of supervision.
  • Ensures coverage for supervision and of caseloads during Case Manager absences, emergencies, or disasters.
  • Ensures Case Manager are provided with adequate skill development, professional support and are held accountable for the service delivery.
  • Provides supervisees ongoing, timely feedback on performance. Evaluates and completes annual Performance Evaluations for each supervisee.
  • Ensures the adequacy of services delivered and the provision of high quality, culturally sensitive, family centered care.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments child and adolescent issues, teen pregnancy and parenthood, teen pregnancy and juvenile delinquency prevention and other related areas. Creates and maintains a creative, positive, sustainable, and supportive work environment.
  • Participates in Agency staff training activities and provides input on overall staff training needs.
  • Identifies any individual, Agency, or systems problems which impede service to clients and/or productive team work and submit recommendations for problem resolution.
  • Displays sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socioeconomics characteristics.
  • Performs work in a safe manner at all times and ensures employees are abiding by safety practices; takes action when employees put themselves or others at risk.
  • Follows all policies, procedures, and legal mandates including HIPAA, client confidentiality, releases of information, protected health information (PHI) and client files.
  • Ensures staff follows all policies, procedures and legal mandates including HIPAA, client confidentiality, releases of information, protected health information (PHI) and client files, and takes applies appropriate coaching, counseling and disciplinary action to reinforce staff compliance.
  • Ensures performance and behaviors support the Agency's performance quality improvement (PQI) goals and objectives.
  • Reports to work on time and maintains reliable and regular attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • MSW, MA public health or MA in social sciences with 1 year of case management experience; or a bachelor's degree in social work, public health or social sciences from a four-year college or university with 3 years of case management experience or experience implementing heath or social service programs in school; or High School diploma with 5 years of case management experience or 3 years experiencing working with youth in a professional or academic capacity.
  • Experience with case management services to culturally diverse communities/families required.
  • Supervisory and/or administrative experience in child and adolescent issues, teen pregnancy and parenthood, teen pregnancy and juvenile delinquency prevention and other related areas.
  • Reflective supervision experience preferred.
  • Sound organizational and time management skills to manage high and varied activity level.
  • Ability to be an excellent representative of the agency to the community.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Ability to read and analyze complex written material.
  • Computer technical skills preferred.
  • Experience tracking and organizing large amounts of data.
  • Ability to utilize electronic record-keeping and reporting systems to analyze data, measure program outcomes, and assist management team with monitoring staff performance.
  • Ability to effectively and successfully interact with individuals from diverse socio-economic/ethnic groups.
  • Proactive, flexible, creative, and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Ability to make sound clinical judgments and follow and give directions.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of stakeholders, including parents, children, and community officials.
  • Valid CA Driver's License and maintains insurability on the Agency's auto liability policy (including a minimum of 2 years driving experience after receiving license) and maintains the California state required auto insurance liability limits.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Agency's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
