Hyundai Motor Group North American Quality Center. (NAQC) is currently looking for a Team leader at Ann Arbor, MI office who will:

As a Team Leader at the North American Quality Center, it is crucial to understand the organization's strategic goals and KPIs, collaborating with the team to continuously monitor and improve quality issues. Additionally, analyzing external indicators and customer data to resolve root causes, while enhancing the technical skills of team members to achieve quality objectives, is key to success.

The ideal candidate is...



  • Comprehend the organization's strategic plan and KPIs, collaborating with the team to achieve targets.
  • Continuously monitor and implement improvements for quality issues in the North American market.
  • Proactively identify potential issues through quality validation activities during the development of new vehicles in North America, prior to SOP.
  • Diagnose and support the resolution of root causes linked to external indices such as IQS, VDS, and CR.
  • Enhance the effectiveness of the FRFT (Fix it Right the First Time) initiative by conducting in-depth analysis to mitigate misdiagnoses, erroneous repairs, and unnecessary parts replacements.
  • Analyze customer complaints using objective quality data, investigate root causes, and validate the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Support market research initiatives and activities to ensure the quality of new vehicle launches.



As the NAQC Team leader ...



  • Major activities are:


    • Oversee the management of company vehicle usage and asset administration.
    • Leverage the SMART system to generate weekly and monthly reports, tracking project status and progress.
    • Strategically plan and execute operations to ensure timely project delivery, including outsourcing and used vehicle procurement.
    • Collaborate with affiliates (HMNA, KMNA, HAC, KCA, HATCI, HMC, Kia, HMMA, KaGA, KMX, and suppliers) to drive mutual success.
    • Work closely with HMNA/KMNA NASO to conduct in-depth investigations of key quality issues and compile and disseminate comprehensive reports.
    • Partner with HMC/Kia KASO to collect incident parts and support the planning and execution of investigative efforts across North America.
    • Collaborate with the IT departments of NAQC and HMNA/KMNA to access critical databases, enabling early detection of quality issues in the market.
    • Represent NAQC at affiliate meetings (QIR, FSE, FTS, LQMP, MQ, battery, etc.), presenting insights and recommendations.
    • Lead quality meetings focused on the Eastern U.S. and Canadian markets.
    • Review and analyze team members' reports, offering strategic direction and guidance.
    • Develop and manage initiatives aimed at enhancing the technical capabilities of team engineers.
    • Monitor team performance and promote continuous improvement through regular team meetings and feedback sessions.
    • Facilitate weekly meetings and reports via the QIR (Quality Information Reports) system, ensuring timely updates and issue resolution.



Candidates considered will...



  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
  • 15+ years of engineering experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing engineers
  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
