Position Title Instructors - Art History (Part-time Semester)
About this Opportunity
The School of Art at Ball State University invites applications for part-time instructors to teach a variety of art history courses, including Introduction to Global Art History ( AHS 100); Introduction to Art History: Global Traditions ( AHS 101); Introduction to Art History: The Modern and Contemporary World ( AHS 102); and upper-level courses in the candidate's area of expertise.

Description
The School of Art at Ball State University invites applications for part-time instructors to teach a variety of art history courses, including Introduction to Global Art History ( AHS 100); Introduction to Art History: Global Traditions ( AHS 101); Introduction to Art History: The Modern and Contemporary World ( AHS 102); and upper-level courses in the candidate's area of expertise. Successful candidates may be hired to teach between one and three sections, and we offer both online and in-person modalities. Course development support and pedagogical mentoring will be offered.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in art history or a related field (with at least 18 graduate hours) from an accredited college or university completed by start of appointment. One semester of experience teaching at the college level.
Authorization to work in the US Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in art history or a related field (with at least 18 graduate hours) from an accredited college or university completed by start of appointment. One year of experience teaching at the college level.

The School of Art has over forty full-time faculty and offers state-of-the-art facilities serving more than 600 undergraduate majors. Programs at the BA, BS, and BFA levels include art education, art history, ceramics, drawing, glass, graphic arts management, graphic design, intermedia, metals, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and visual arts/animation. School of Art students enjoy world-class facilities, with over 73,000 square feet of classroom, gallery, and studio space in the Art and Journalism Building, Applied Technology Building, and the Marilyn K. Glick Center for Glass. Students and faculty work closely with David Owsley Museum of Art on campus, among the finest university art collections in the nation. Ball State University is accredited by the National Association for Schools of Art and Design.
