The Opportunity

The Department of Integrated Business (IB) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is pleased to invite applications for multiple 9-month, non-tenure earning instructor or lecturer positions with an anticipated start date of Fall 2025. The normal teaching load is four classes each fall semester and four classes each spring semester with a reduction of one class per year for a lecturer who has and maintains academic qualifications to teach at the master's level in the college. Responsibilities also include university and professional service and, for an instructor, professional development outcomes sufficient to maintain academic qualifications for teaching at the undergraduate level or, for a lecturer, publications sufficient to maintain academic qualifications for teaching at the undergraduate and master's levels.

The teaching assignment will focus on the program's eight required courses: Applied Business Technologies, Business Climate Analysis, Data-Driven Decision Making, Integrated Business Foundations, Integrated Management, Integrated Marketing and Sales; Project Management, and Talent Management. The teaching assignment may also include serving as a lab instructor for core courses required of all students in the College of Business' BSBA programs and, for a lecturer, teaching courses in the IB track of the Master of Science in Management (MSM) program or other master's programs in the college.

In the IB program, the content and structure of each course is developed and maintained by a course lead. Instructors and lecturers are expected to work with the course lead to focus on high-quality course delivery and substantive student engagement. They are also expected to provide input on the development of common assignments and assessments and changes in course content and structure. The IB program has adopted a flipped classroom approach in which face-to-face class time is used to actively engage students with the application of course content and develop in them a range of soft or transferable skills. Course instructors do not lecture.
