Job Overview

The Carl H. Lindner College of Business, Career Services Center is accepting applications for a term adjunct (part-time) faculty member for Career Success Strategies. This one-credit hourcourse is designed to equip undergraduate business students with the tools and strategies they need to navigate today's dynamic job market and achieve their professional goals. From self-discovery and resume building to networking and interviewing, we are here to support students in developing the skills needed to execute an effective co-op search.

Appointments are renewed based on departmental need and teaching performance.

Note: All sections are in-person between the hours of 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Required instructor training will be scheduled for early December.

Essential Functions

  • Teach all class sessions at the specified time and place, and in the specified format unless otherwise discussed with the Director.
  • Utilize Canvas course materials; curricular changes must be approved by the Director.
  • Supervise and mentor 2-3 undergraduate teaching assistants which includes communicating regularly, setting expectations, and cultivating development.
  • Grade assignments in a timely fashion and provide constructive feedback.
  • Submit final grades via Catalyst by the deadline identified by the Registrar's Office.
  • Review and respond to student and university-related communications within 24-48 hours.
  • Participate in required instructor trainings and professional development opportunities.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of responsibilities.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degreein an appropriate disciple and prior teaching experience.

Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex material to students unfamiliar with a subject.

Ability to work and collaborate with individuals from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
