Job Summary

Due to the nature of the role, we are only considering applicants who live within close proximity to NYC.

The Assistant Manager, Marketing & Communications (Contract Employee) is responsible for supporting and driving communication strategies for the Ad Council brand and its social impact campaigns. You will serve as a gatekeeper of the Ad Council written narrative by helping to position Ad Council work through thought leadership articles and events and by supporting the development of key marketing communications across relevant Ad Council campaigns.

You will help identify and manage the right, targeted tactics that can truly surround an issue, reach an audience and make a difference in our world - whether it's drafting pitches that will book stories at top-tier outlets like Today and the New York Times, writing speeches and talking points for top industry executives and Ad Council stakeholders, or weighing in on strategy for our partner PR, social and digital agencies.

This position is perfect if you have strong written and oral communication skills, have an appetite for learning the latest in PR and social media trends and are passionate about social change.

This is a contract employee role. This means that, while the position is at all times one of "at will employment", the Ad Council anticipates at present that the employment length would be approximately 6 months with the possibility to extend the contract. The compensation for this position is $5,250 monthly, paid semi-monthly. Contract employees will be eligible to participate in limited benefits and paid time off. We are also open to this role being a fully remote position.
