Role Snapshot

The Internship Program with WPS Health Solutions is comprised of two key components. The first component involves gaining practical experience to supplement academic coursework and prepare for future career pursuits. This will be comprised of a hands-on role within a functional area related to a relevant field of study. Each internship incorporates responsibilities and tasks which support the business objectives and client service offerings, while providing ongoing collaboration with experienced departmental colleagues and exposure to "real world" business demands. The second element centers on exposure to corporate culture and professional development. Throughout the internship experience, Interns from across the organization will have the chance to come together to build and develop relationships and share experiences. During these sessions, Interns will participate in presentations and discussions with internal and external speakers and resources with topics focused on building essential soft-skills and business acumen.

WPS Health Solutions' Audit Team is looking for interns to participate in a summer internship program. The primary duty of this role is to review cost reports and determine if the report is deemed acceptable based on the criteria provided.

What you will do as an Audit Intern:



  • Review cost reports and determine if the report is deemed acceptable based on the criteria provided
  • Learn how to utilize internal Medicare software and Microsoft Excel reports to process reviews of cost reports
  • Learn about corporate culture and training to aid in future career successes

Minimum Qualifications



  • Be currently pursuing a degree in higher education or recent graduate
  • Have experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)


Preferred Qualifications



  • Pursuing a secondary degree in a business-related field
  • Prior experience or exposure to basic accounting practices and principles, along with intermediate Excell skills


Remote Work Requirements



  • High speed cable or fiber internet
  • Minimum of 10 Mbps downstream and at least 1 Mbps upstream internet connection (can be checked at https://speedtest.net)

Compensation

$17 to $24 per hour
