Department Overview

Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. As a whole, Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E's gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response.

Position Summary

Responsible for groups of projects that are necessary for the capital replacement of gas distribution facilities. Leads teams of project managers, project controls analysts, and/or distribution engineers who oversee matrixed teams supporting these projects. These leaders manage work from inception through completion while meeting the cost, scope and schedule requirements, leveraging the skills and experience of a diverse team to focus on the successful delivery of capital projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures staff compliance with all site safety requirements and regulations.
  • Develops effective metrics to track, report on and improve overall department performance.
  • Escalates unresolved issues to the appropriate executive leadership; involves stakeholders in resolving barriers.
  • Ensures work in department is carried out using established processes, practices and procedures as directed.
  • Collaborates with others to identify, analyze and improve existing business processes within a department to meet new goals and objectives.
  • Provides effective leadership, coaching and development of employees through the goal setting and performance evaluation process, development planning process, and providing frequent open and honest feedback.
  • Manages the portfolio of assigned projects and ensures all projects are designed safely and constructed on time, on budget, on scope, and without adverse environmental or regulatory impacts.
  • Supervises staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and rewards and recognition.
  • Leads, tracks and reports on work progression.
  • Ensure safety standards are embedded in design & engineering work plans.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of thejob posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will bebased on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,market value, geographic location, and internal equity.Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this rolewill be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $128,000

Bay Area Maximum: $218,000

California Minimum: $122,000

California Maximum: $207,000

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of relevant experience

Desired:

  • Experience in capital program management, large scope
  • Experience in field work, gas systems
  • Experience in utility or constructionindustry, job-related, 10 years
  • Experience in gas maintenance and construction
  • PMP-Project Management Professional certification
