Description

Job Title: Kettle Driver

FLSA Status: Full Time - non-exempt (Temporary)
Reports to: Corps Officer

Schedule: 40 hours/week
Supervises: N/A

Rate of Pay: $18/hr

Closing Date: 11/23/2024

Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Non-Exempt seasonal employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:



  • Sick leave benefit - 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire)


Education and Work Experience:



  1. A High School Diploma or GED
  2. Volunteer coordination/supervision and management
  3. Working knowledge of crisis communications/management
  4. Must be minimally 21 years of age and possessing a valid in-state Driver's License


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:



  1. Excellent communication skills
  2. Must have superior time management skills
  3. Outstanding volunteer/donor skills
  4. Ability to supervise paid staff and volunteers insuring proper representation of The Salvation Army is maintained
  5. Must be committed to the fundraising effort in order to generate the maximum donations possible on behalf of The Salvation Army
  6. Must have knowledge of all TSA safety standards
  7. Must possess a valid, current Colorado state Driver's License
  8. Must possess the ability to positively motivate employees and staff to perform at their best ant to represent The Salvation Army in the best light possible
  9. Must possess and maintain a clean driving record
  10. Must submit to and pass a criminal background screen



Software-Related Skills:



  1. This position will not require specific software relates skills or abilities


Scope of Position/Essential Functions:



  1. Operate an assigned TSA vehicle in a safe and courteous manner obeying all safety and traffic laws
  2. Safety or traffic law infractions remain the responsibility of the driver and The Salvation Army will be held harmless
  3. Navigate the route specified and supervise the volunteers and staff assigned to those specific locations
  4. Ensure the staff and volunteers are performing the work required to maximize potential donations
  5. Be available to troublshoot as needs arise on any given day at kettle locations.
  6. Be flexible to be re-routed by the Corps Officer and/or the Kettle Coordinator to accommodate various needs that arise during bell ringing.
  7. Encourage staff and volunteers in their efforts
  8. Stress (and follow through on) your availability to the staff and volunteers if needed
  9. Keep scheduling in line with expectations
  10. Pick up and transport Angel Tree toys upon request by the Corps Officers to the Aurora Corps.
  11. Demonstrate respect for other employees, associates, donors, clients, store managers and associates, and the goals and objectives of The Salvation Army



Physical Requirements: Ability to maneuver, remain in a stationary position, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead. Ability to operate telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, Ability to access and produce information from a computer, Ability to understand written information. Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
