V2X is growing! V2X is looking for a Property Custodian and Inventory Specialist to join our team!

Position Overview:

The Property Custodian and Inventory Control role position will interface with organizations and personnel across the program to ensure stockroom inventories, property inventory, and shipping and receiving are maintained and in compliance with company, government, and contractual requirements. The Inventory Specialist maintains the integrity-assurance of government, contract, and company materials, supplies and property inventory by providing technical maintenance and administrative support in these disciplines. The individual will also be accountable for maintenance and storage of all materials, supplies and property that conform to Government (NASA) and Company inventory standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Locate and track inventory items, create purchase requests, and handle the distribution of parts and services.
  • Oversee inventory levels, place orders for products and supplies, and manage inventory within acceptable limits.
  • Work on special projects and maintenance campaigns by collecting and evaluating data on required specifications, identifying best-value purchases (considering price, quality, warranty, and delivery).
  • Distribute parts and services to projects and facility maintenance teams, organize inventory, and assist with scheduled cycle counts.
  • Analyze inventory usage trends, establish stock re-order and minimum/maximum levels, and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain computerized and manual records of inventory, equipment, shipments, repairs, and costs. Ensure that parts are reconciled accurately with Maintenance and Facility Work Orders.
  • Create inventory reports using a COTS Maintenance Database as needed.
  • Manage the centralized shipping and receiving area, process outbound shipments, and pick up products from local vendors.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Management (SCM) to resolve pricing inconsistencies, restocking charges, delivery issues, warranties, and quality concerns. Pursue and troubleshoot warranty claims.
  • Oversee deliveries of facility and operational consumables (e.g., propane and chemicals), and enter relevant data such as specifications and/or Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDs).
  • Cross-train with the Purchasing and Payables Specialist to handle Purchase Order reconciliation, shipping, receiving, and procurement system data entry.


Knowledge and Skills:



  • Strong understanding of inventory control practices, procurement processes, and warehousing concepts.
  • Familiarity with accounting and auditing principles, bid analysis, and general office practices.
  • Proficiency in modern office equipment, particularly computer software related to inventory management (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of relevant Federal, State, and Local laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Skilled in maintaining databases, conducting research, analyzing data, developing recommendations, and organizing stockrooms.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with coworkers, supervisors, and customers.


Physical Requirements:



  • Regular physical activity including climbing, stooping, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50 pounds occasionally), and other physical tasks.
  • Exposure to dust, chemicals, inadequate lighting, and workspace restrictions may occur.


Work Environment:



  • The position may require work in conditions with varying air temperatures and noise.


Reporting Structure:



  • Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.


Required Qualifications/Skills:



  • 5 years of work experience
  • Strong proficiency in databases and Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience with government contracts
  • Maintaining and controlling inventory.
  • Conducting research, analyzing data, and developing recommendations.
  • Work with Requests for Materials within SCM including preparing purchase requests.
  • Maintaining stockroom organization.
  • Operating modern office equipment.
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, customers, and the general public sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize time to support business objectives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


Desired Qualifications/Skills:



  • Experience leading/managing others on the contract


Education Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Contracts or related field
